Les Toques Blanches - Victorian Chapter

The mission of Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc.} Chapter for Full members, Associated members, Life members and Pioneer members is to:
 
1. Encourage social interaction between all members through networking events.

2. Provide benefits to members and sponsors.
3. Share knowledge and experiences.
4. Uphold and constantly improve industry values and standards.

The role of the Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc.} Chapter is as an organisation that encourages social interaction of Victorian based chefs from establishments of repute.
Les Toques Blanches major roles incorporates:

1. Networking, communicating and discussing industry relevant issues.
2. Promoting acceptable industry standards.
3. Training and development.
E.g. Cookery competitions, training, development and advice to the culinary profession.

2. Les Toques Blanches exist to promote standards:
Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc.} Chapter is a group of professional chefs.
(By technical definition "professional chefs" who earn their living by cookery with high standards of integrity).

The Chapter strives to better the industry through training and education, believing this to be a lifelong journey whilst recognizing the past, promoting, and giving encouragement to the future.
 
3. Les Toques Blanches provides educational advice:

Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc.} Chapter can provide, on request, educational advice to State or Federal authorities and Private institutions and guidance on the future of a cookery vocation.
 

 
4. Les Toques Blanches is a social organisation:  
Les Toques Blanches is an association that conducts events throughout the year to assist in networking. These events may be industry or family member focused.

5. Les Toques Blanches stakeholders are:

Chef Members, Associated members, Life members, Pioneer members and Sponsors.

Chef Members - Professional chefs that have been nominated ,seconded ,introduced to the association and inducted into the Chapter by the unanimous vote of financial members.

Associated member are reputable suppliers or industry persons nominated by chef members. This membership class does not have voting rights.

Life member awarded to persons of renown by the members in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc.}. Chapter.

Pioneer members award - is given by Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc} .Chapter members to individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the industry.

Sponsors and Suppliers - groups or individuals that participate in one or more events of Les Toques Blanches by donating monies, products or time.
 

6.Les Toques Blanches communication channels:

Les Toques Blanches communicates via:
- Its member's image and presentation.
- Spokespersons.
- Media editorials.
- Minutes circulated to club members.

7. Value and benefits to Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc} members and associated members:

- Invitations by the Chapter membership to attend industry and/or social events.

- Invitations can be complimentary or subject to current fee pricings for members, family and guests.

- Award of Excellence and Pioneer award nights.
- Gala dinner.
- Domain Chandon picnic day.
- Christmas party.
- Free personalised webpage – Of all members valued at $350.
- For a total market value of $ 1575 - $ 4,120 per annum as at 2007.
- Upon induction , a fee of $ 220.00.
- Annual fee: $110.00 incl. GST.
- Networking and sharing experiences.
- Networking with other Les Toques Blanches Chapters, interstate and internationally.
- "Rapport" – a sense of belonging.
- Annual educational field trips subsidized by Les Toques Blanches
- Respect and prestige within the industry.
- Guest speakers and presentation of products.

- Assisting young cooks engaged in the industry with books and resources at discounted prices.
 
8. How much input does the individuals’ member have?
- As much as they choose
 
9. Les Toques Blanches membership numbers:
- Member numbers are not capped.
 
10.Definition of a suitable member:
- Members must be or have been a chef of good standing as defined by the officers of the
association, elected committee persons and accepted by the members.
 
11. Les Toques Blanches marketing strategies to attract more members:

- Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc.} Chapter may endorse a tiered series to increase membership.
-Marketing and communicating with the industry community needs to be increased in order to enhance the profile of the Chapter. Thereby attracting high profile chefs that meet the standard of the organisation, importantly for the growth and longevity of the Chapter.
 
12. How Les Toques Blanches gives value to its sponsors:

- Recognition of sponsors through communication and the web site.
- Product and brand support by our members.
- Introducing sponsors to colleagues and associates.
- Acknowledging the sponsors products and services at special events.
- Value and benefits given over to Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc} Chapter members.
- Offer expertise on product quality and standards.
- Assist with market research.
- Offer opinions on sponsors services and products.

 
 
13. How Les Toques Blanches utilizes its finances:

- For the benefit of members.
- Assist with the recognition of excellence in training. E.g., apprentice competitions.
- In activities that are considered by the Chapter to promote the art of cookery.
- Subsidize field trips or other educational events.
- Charity involvement E.g., tsunami victims in Sri Lanka, Prahran mission, and supporting
gateway.
- Recognition of the inducted Pioneers of the industry.
- Employment of an administrator/general manager.
 
 
14. Les Toques Blanches responsibilities and involvement in projects:

- Each case is considered in relation to the value of benefits to the Chapter and members.
 

15. Les Toques Blanches may assist other like-minded organisations by:

- Joint ventures in culinary competitions.
- Judging competitions.
- Sharing of resources.
 
16. Les Toques Blanches should focus on:

- Ensuring the prolongation of Les Toques Blanches Victorian {Inc.} Chapter.
- Assisting other states to set up a chapters under the banner of Les Toques Blanches or
equivalent.

In particular assist in establishing a Sydney Chapter.


- Assisting and cooperating with other like-minded organisations with researching and
maintaining standards in professional cookery.
- Promoting and enforcing a common code of professional conduct Australian wide.

 
17. Les Toques Blanches 12 month program of events:

- Ascertain a balanced number of events.
- Ensure every event is of the highest standard.
- Informal dinners after each meeting to be part of the networking program.
