University Meat was founded in 1960 by the Joe Marcocci who has been in this business for over 40 years. Joe Marcocci started his work as an apprentice butcher in the early 1950’s. During the next decade he set up more than 55 retail butcher shops, some of which were transformed into wholesale Businesses. This traditional family business extended its roots from the father to the sons where Loui and Alex Marcocci are now the proud Directors of this Company for the last twenty years.
Among the largest meat wholesalers in Victoria, University Meat is known as a provider of top quality produce, with an extremely high reputation in the customer market serving prestigious clients across Melbourne.
Experience
University Meat has developed an active innovation/product development team. This team comprises creative multi skilled staffs that have an excellent understanding of food processing techniques, nature and structure of the hospitality industry and an appreciation of the art of smallgoods manufacture and value added products. The conception of new ideas, products and services, considers market and consumer needs. Conception and development of products involves the communication with our customers in collaboration with our QA Manager/Food Technologist, our Consultant Chef/Training Officer, our Marketing Manager and our talented Sales Representatives
Customer Service
University Meat has a firm commitment to customer service and most of our client’s base has been formed through long term customer relations. The company takes a pro-active approach to marketing and expends its knowledge through activities such as Meat Industry conferences, AUS Meat Specification seminars, TAFE seminars and other specialised training programs. University Meat offers 24 hours service, 7 days a week on call and we can offer as many deliveries as requested for the same day (before 3.30pm). We can also supply customers with Halal Meat products for which we have necessary accreditation certificates.
